February was a very exciting month for music making at our school. Students from Grades 4 -8 had a chance to experience group song writing through the Artist in the School Program. Local Singer songwriter Lindsay White shared her talents and song writing skills with our students while providing them with the creative tools to compose an original song themselves. Lindsey’s three-week residency culminated in a school assembly that gave each class a chance to show case their songs. We would like to thank the Manitoba Arts Council for their support in this amazing opportunity. Congratulations 4/5 Choir! The 4/5 Choir really shined this month in two performance opportunities. Frist they sang for the division event Pembina Trails Sings and then all their hard work culminated in a Gold standing at the Winnipeg Music Festival on Feb 28. Wow! After a little celebration, 4/5 Choir is now over for this year and I look forward working with the young singers again in 4/5 choir and 6-8 choir next year.
